AirPods Pro 2 revision 2 microphone does not work in Windows 11

Hello,

I aquired AirPods Pro 2 a year ago, they worked perfectly, with iPhone, Windows11 and TV switching between them.

Recently I aquired a new AirPods Pro 2, I got a newer revision, bluetooth product id 0x2014, firmware version 5E135 case 54.26.1.

Windows does recognize the speaker and microphone, however, it does not receive anything from the microphone. This is a major regression of this newer revision, it makes it impossible to use the AirPods Pro 2 as main ear phones similar to the previous one.

I search all over the internet, nobody have been able to activate the microphone, there were some success stories, which I cannot confirm, in which forgetting them from iPhone, resetting and paring to Windows makes it work, I could not succeed in this as well... However, the reports say that it will work either with Windows or with the iPhone.

Can anyone confirm that a setup of AirPods Pro 2 with bluetooth product id 0x2014 microphone is working for Windows 11, and is able to connect/disconnect and move them between iPhone and Windows works?

All worked in the previous revision of AirPods Pro 2, I was very happy with it, the regression of the new revision is major and does not allow me to use my AirPods as generic ear phones any more.

My feeling is that the new control channel to report the battery level that is always connect to the iPhone is the root cause of this.

I have a Dell G15 laptop with realtek audio. When you say you switched to a different one does that mean you had to replace hardware or is there a different driver I could try to use. Having the same issue where the mic gives no signal

An update.

When resetting the Air Pods[1], fforgetting them in the iPhone, delete from Windows.

Then repair iPhone and/or Windows, the speaker is *working*, I can disable/enable the bluetooth on the PC and everything continues to work, up until I connect the Air Pods with the iPhone (via bluetooth menu) or put them back into the case and close the lid.

This means that the Air Pods Pro 2 Revision 2 model A2698 firmware 5E135 is capable of working with Windows after reset and pairing (even if it is also previosly paired to iphone), however, it is broken after it connects to an Apple device.

Does someone knows anyone at Apple that can evaluate this regression compared to the revision 1 of the product which worked perfectly?

Thanks,
