touchpad sensitivity

How can one reduce unintended insertion point changes due to palm contact on 2020 M1 MacBook Pro 13" trackpad? I search Apple support and still find no answer except "don't touch the trackpad while typing". Most questions are for older devices, so I'm asking again. Why doesn't Apple listen? No-one uses a palm to change the location while typing, and certainly not in the fraction of a second between two characters in the same word. ANYONE that cared could write code to prevent the change if they worked in the right part of Apple... How about a context sensitive option (say a delay before insertion point change following a non-control keyboard event). It seems to be complete disregard for millions of customers.

if you are holding your hands in the appropriate wrist-neutral (not bent up or down) position, your palm does not touch the trackpad. Consider lowering your typing surface to accomplish that laudable goal, because not having your wrists in neutral position sets you up for receptive strain injury.

if you connect a different pointing device instead, you can turn off the trackpad.

The "just don't touch it" answer clearly prevents the undesired event, but also ignores the real world. If I and the many others thought it was useful they wouldn't keep asking the question.

My arms are level, elbows resting on arm-rests, wrists are straight(not bent to align fingers with keyboard rows), and chair is raised as high as it goes. Or maybe it's in my lap, or on the kitchen table when replying to the same not-very-useful reply. Might be related to the thumb and space bar, or it might, in fact, be hardware related, and it's infrequent enough that I can't reproduce it on demand. I do appreciate that someone, though not Apple apparently, is listening. [Apologies, could not edit first version of reply]
