Crackling noise from Echo Dot Gen 5 Connected to Macbook Air M2

Hi. I have a Macbook air M2. When I connect it to the Echo Dot Gen 5 speaker, I keep getting crackling noises from the speaker.

The Echo dot speaker works fine on its own or when I connect to other devices. Issue is only when connecting to macbook air.

Tried restarting the laptop and factory reset the Echo dot, same outcome.

If I use the macbook speakers or the speakers from my monitor, it works fine.

The issue is specific with connecting the Echo dot to macbook. How can I resolve this?
