Strange beeping sound (speakers muted) on MacBook Pro 14 M1 Pro

I have a very disturbing problem. My computer is making a sound even with the speakers muted. It is a strange beeping sound every 10 seconds or so. This beeping has different pitches and sometimes modulates. It doesn't always do it, but it seems to me that when it is working a little more intensely. It is very disturbing to hear. The computer does not indicate any errors, what could it be?

I've never heard that sound before. Closest thing I've heard to that would be from a failing hard drive, but Apple Silicon Macs don't use hard drives, unless you have an external hard drive powered on somewhere nearby. I have heard SSDs make a slight noise, but they are usually very hard to hear so I really doubt this is the case here.

Are you sure the noise is from the laptop? Have you tried moving the laptop to another location to make sure the sound follows the laptop instead of something else in the room making that sound? I can tell you from personal experience some sounds can be hard to track down. I could have sworn a sound was at my desk, but after investigating discovered the sound was from ten feet away.

If you believe the sound is from the laptop, then take the laptop to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for assistance since the only way to figure it out would be to see & hear the laptop in person.

You can try booting the laptop into Safe Mode which will prevent the automatic launching of third party software during boot & log in. Or maybe just a normal reboot may be sufficient if something got stuck.

I think i found out what was the issue. It seems my left fan is not working. When i installed the fan monitoring software (Macs Fan Control) i see my right fan is spinning normally but left one is not and it appears it tries to spin every 6-7 seconds when i hear that beep sound.

I'll have to bring over the laptop to Apple repair shop to confirm, but i'm quite sure that's the problem

The only things I can think of which will cause a beeping are:

  1. Fan
  2. Beeping from sensing the power adapter being connected
  3. Key press when an app detects an inappropriate key
  4. Speakers

Number 2 is the most likely if there is an issue with the power adapter, charging cable, or laptop hardware issue.

I'm assuming there are no external devices connected to the laptop and the power adapter is connected directly to the laptop.

100 percent from a computer. I'm a musician, I recorded sound at home (from the video), and yesterday it was very strong while recording a concert on stage. Generally a disaster... Previously I tried all kinds of resets, etc. helped for a while, but yesterday with a fairly heavy load the signal appeared again. Today during gentle work it was present all the time, I reset the computer again. I turned it off for 5 minutes and it was like it was suddenly gone. It will probably appear again soon.

Well it looks like a visit to Apple awaits me. The only thing that worries me is that it's a computer bought used and it lacks a warranty.
