"When you try to associate another device that was previously associated, you might see a message that says, "This device is associated with another Apple ID. You cannot associate this device with another Apple ID for [number] days." Depending on when you associated your device with your Apple ID, you might need to wait up to 90 days to associate the device with another Apple ID.

Upgraded to iPhone14 Pro Max. Wife did too at same, same place (ATT)... Went through all the Apple ID/passwords/authorizing purchases/etc... At the end of all that, unknowingly I was logged in to MUSIC among other things with my wife's Apple ID and NO subscription to MUSIC like I did... This caused many other issues, but it took a 3rd level advisor to figure out I was logged in incorrectly with wrong Apple Id. Logged out, and back in using the correct Apple ID and things began to improve... Until... I tried to download from the Apple Music app and received:
"This device cannot be transferred.

I "removed" my old phone from the "Manage Devices" under Music/App store /Account/Account settings to no avail... It's now greyed out and say I have 22 days remaining and makes no sense to me...
Called Apple Support, reach 2nd? level advisor who tried everything to resolve, but concluded, "That's the way the software works by protecting copyrights. You need to wait 90 days"
WTF?!
I can't believe there is no way to fix this accidental issue. This forces me to cancel the subscription, because otherwise, all I have is another Spotify or Pandora (I already have Pandora).
Terrible engineering design!
