Apple Music cross fade not working on Mac Studio

I have multiple playlists set up on my old iMac at home. Yesterday the cross fade function was working, and today it won't. I have both Lossless audio and Dolby Atmos turned off.

In frustration, I then tried my newish office computer Mac Studio 2022, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I have tried playing songs that are streaming, and those that are downloaded. The closest I can get is that it will chop the last 6 seconds off the song (but only if I have the cross fade slider set at 12 seconds). My OS on the Mac Studio is Ventura 13.2.1. I am playing music through the computer's speakers. Is there some other setting that I am missing?

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that crossfade ins't working on your Mac for streaming and downloaded music. If you haven't done so already, quit the app and relaunch it, restart your computer to refresh running processes, and update to macOS 13.4 to install the most recent performance fixes.

When Music plays consecutive tracks from the same album, crossfading is automatically turned off, with no fading between the songs (or tracks).

Thanks so much for the reply. I had restarted several times, so then I tried updating to macOS 13.4 as per your suggestion. Seems to work now on some songs but not others....? Thanks anyway!

Same here, on my Mac Studio 2022 and Macbookpro 2020, no more crossfade. I have to use my 2009 macbook to play my music with crossfades. I did ask for that feature since I'm a music teacher and have used itunes playlists for my courses. This is a major drawback for our school.
