I've been trying to update macOS sierra 10.12 to high sierra 10.13

I have been trying to update macbook pro form macOS sierra 10.12 to high sierra 10.13; it is just not working. If anyone could guide me on this would be very appreciated.

first, does the MBP qualify to run High Sierra? please see macOS High Sierra - Technical Specifications.

if it does, you can visit How to download macOS - Apple Support and see if you can use that to get High Sierra.
