How to set a business as closed on particular holidays in Maps

I received this answer from Apple Support and tested it. The location status feature allows you to schedule a future temporary closing.

To change your status to temporarily closed, please follow these steps:

* Log in to our portal.

* Select the location you wish edit.

* Scroll to down to where you see status and click “Edit.”

* In the drop down, select ‘Temporarily closed“ and the start and end date

* Click “Save.”

Just enrolled on AppleBusiness and it falls very far short of what you can do on Google, and yes I also can't find a way to show we are closed on 4th July... Bonkers for a company like apple to fail on such basics, like listing opening dates!

I’m not familiar with the maps part of the equation…that’s what I think you’re talking about? Editing the open hours that will show up on Apple Maps?

If possible you may consider trying to contact apple directly. I’m only saying this because I see frequent posts from business owners that are having difficulty editing the info on Apple Maps.

Unfortunately I spoke too soon. Setting a future temporary closure will IMMEDIATELY change your status on Apple Maps to Temporarily Closed, even if you have specified the future dates that the closure begins and ends.

Effectively the scheduling feature doesn't work because it takes immediate effect no matter what dates are entered.

Yeah, this kinda sucks. no way to set up as closed on holidays. . .

ALSO, no way to set up overnight hours, we're open til 2am and it stinks. we have to set hours til 11:30pm and then for the next day 12am - 2am. :-/

Or maybe not. Maybe that’s just for managed iDevices. Sorry. I would think there’d be an easier way.

This is exactly what I was looking for. In my case it simply won't accept a future date, so you'll have to set this on the first day of the closure.
