What PC files are you talking about and how did you transfer them?
Did you use some sort of backup app to copy files and folders or what? If you use the Apple Migration assistant, I'd be very surprised if anything other than usable data was transferred and even then it would need to be compatible with macOS.

It was folders with pictures and music. I moved them from a pc to an external hard drive first and then to a Mac at a later date. I can see the folders faded and can hide them but I want to know how to stop them from disappearing when I turn on hide
To unhide those files use the key combo Shift-Command-period (⇧⌘.) in your Finder window.
Use the combo again to hide them.
Thank but I want to know how to stop them from disappearing when I do that command
Delete the Period (.) at the beginning of the file or folder name.
There is no dot at the beginning of the folder/file name
Hmmm.

It's older, but there might be a hint or two.
