delete old suggested email

We understand that you want to remove email address suggestions for emails that you no longer use. We are happy to help.

1. "In the Mail app  on your Mac, choose Window > Previous Recipients.
2. Find the address you want to delete. You can search for it or sort the list by clicking a column header.

If you want to check the address in the Contacts app, double-click the card icon in front of the address. If a card doesn’t exist yet and you want to keep the address in Contacts, select the address, then click Add to Contacts. 

3. Click Remove From List."

I have this exact problem. I performed the steps recommended and the address is no longer in the previous recipients list, HOWEVER IT STILL SHOWS UP when I type that person's name into the address field in Mail.
