Stage manager and Safari on iMac

When I'm using Safari on my iMac (Ventura 13.3) and have it open, it won't 'leave the stage' when I click on the desktop. It always stay there. When I bring 'on stage' another app from the LHS stack, Safari just remains there. All the other apps 'leave the stage' as expected, but not Safari.

I also opened Chrome, and when I have it open 'centre stage' I can make it move 'off stage' by clicking the desktop. So its behaving as I would expect.

Anyone else having this problem? I restarted in Safe Mode, but same behaviour.

Thanks

OK, found the problem and solution.

I had Safari configured via 'Right Click' the Dock Icon>Options>'Assign to All Desktops'. When I changed this to either Options>Assign to 'None' or 'This Desktop' it all worked as expected.
