Text on Photo

Hello,

What can I do to again be able to type info right on top of a picture in Photos as I was doing with a text box that I selected in MARK UP?

ABOVE THE TEXT BOX  are these possible choices:  CUT, COPY DELETE, AND EDIT.

My text box shows the word TEXT inside. However, I cannot click and change inside the box. THE WORD TEXT REMAINS.

Before when all was working well I selected EDIT; then I was able to to type exactly what I wanted into the text box.  Now nothing happens. I have already tried the other the other choices—  CUT, COPY DELETE.  None of those choices  has helped.

I really need to be able to type on photos with the text box so that we know the location/time of the photo.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Kay

Photo editing, markup/add text. If you copy/paste the sentence just goes horizontal and doesn’t wrap or stay presentable within text box. ALL GONE WITHIN LAST TWO SOFTWARE UPDATES. fix this please!

Hi Brian

I appreciate your response! I am already familiar with the process you have delineated. For what ever reason, I used to be able to have a text box — press edit— and type in my description. Not any more …

It may be coincidental but this inability to type in the text box is soon after the last Apple update.

Any other suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks,

Kay

Hey kayann1025,

Let's make sure that you're following these steps below:

Use Markup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Photos
1. Go to Photos and select the photo you want.
2. Tap Edit, then tap the Markup button . Tap the Add button  to add text, shapes, and more.
3. Tap Done, then tap Done again.

You can even draw on your photos using Markup as well.

Also, are you using an Apple Pencil? If yes, try unpairing your Apple Pencil and test Markup while an accessory isn't actively paired with your iPad. This can help us further isolate the issue.

Cheers!
