Problem with Music app

I hope this is in the correct section. If not sorry

I have no problem with the app until I use it with CarPlay. It will only play for a few minutes then cuts off. I have the latest IOS, latest app version and latest software in the car, also I'm using an Apple cable.

What makes it strange it is only the Music app doing it. I can use Waze, Spotify, Maps or seems to be anything else with out any problem. But start playing music and everything stops after a few minutes.

Any help please.

We're happy to help. It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting to make sure your iPhone is up-to-date.


Are you an Apple Music subscriber? If so, are you streaming music or playing offline content when this happens? If you're not an Apple Music subscriber, is this music purchases from the iTunes Store or it music that was synced to your device?


One way to troubleshoot if this is local music on your device is to remove it and then either re-download it again or re-sync it to your iPhone. This can help isolate if it's an issue with the music in your Music library.

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't try any of the suggestion because I had ask the same question on another forum and got a suggestion I hadn't tried and it has worked. The suggestion was simple and don't know why I hadn't tried it. I have a new car but was the same make as my previous one so thought the settings would be the same.

I went in to Settings> General> CarPlay then tapped on the car then Forget This Car. Then reinstalled my car.

I hope this may help someone else some time with similar problem.
