I am trying to open any photograph/video on the photos app on my iPad and the OS is SELECTING it instead of opening the selected picture/video. I am not able to open my pictures and the recorded videos. Please help.

You may want to check, if the "Select" button is highlighted. If yes, tap "cancel", so you can open the images.
