Iphone Calendar entries

My Iphone calendar is defaulted to "events" not "appointments" how do I change the calendar app. to appointments.

Calendar does not make this distinction. See this from the iPhone User Guide.

IOS17.0.2 broke my calendar too I’ve got the 13 Pro Max and the calendar app is telling me “This app does not have access to your calendars”. How’s that even possible?? I can’t view any of my previous appointments or dates and I can’t add any new ones either. It tells me to go to the Privacy Settings section but there’s nothing there to grant access to. Can anyone help?
