hi
I recently downloaded an effects plug in to try and use the transitions and filters that it provides
the specific program name is called ae juice.
however whenever I download a plug in the transition does not show up on Final Cut Pro.
I tried transferring the files to the movies/motion templets/ transitions folder. I also tried the .localized trick.
still nothing is working and I cannot see the transitions in that section of Final Cut Pro.

What is it exactly, a transition? an effect? In each case, it will have to go to the correct location.
Below is an example for a transition. Note that there must be a "category" folder between Transitions and the actual folder for the transition in question. This is the category where the transition will appear inside FCP - in this example, the category name is "Lichinho". Not making the category folder and putting the transition directly inside Transitions is a common mistake.
If in doubt, post a similar screenshot of your own.

sorry guys I figured it out. so the files are downloaded as normal videos. I just had to add the effect on top of two videos and blend it in.
im still learning this program and I thought it was as easy as drop in and adjust time of transition. turns out there's different ways you can drop in transitions
Those aren’t FCP transitions or effects. Are you sure they’re not for After Effects?
FCP uses Motion effects and transitions. That's not what you installed. Looking at the aejuice site it looks as if much of their content comes in many different flavor. I'm guessing you loaded the content for some other application and not the ones for FCP.
If you show the rest of the files that work you'll see different file extensions.
I guess they're animation plugins and aftereffects.
where can I get proper transitions an effects for Final Cut?

Start with https://fcpxtemplates.com/ There are excellent plugins on his site.
There are a ton of third party plugins for FCP. Google what you're looking for. aejuice has some FCP content, or versions of their stuff for FCP.
You don't have to take out your phone and photograph the screen (and have it sideways...).
Just press Command-Shift-4, click and drag a rectangle to capture. The screenshot will be saved to your Desktop.
I still feel like im doing something wrong with the transitions I already downloaded. I quickly downloaded a different company's effects and transitions folder and it worked right away. ill send a screen shot in a bit
Can you post a screenshot in column view showing the file path of where the effects are including the effects themselves?
I don't know why it's uploading sideways. im sorry. however this is how it looks like. should I get rid of the "1" filter and just go straight to the plug ins?
the fxfactory file works fine. I noticed it had ".localized" at the name of the file so I added the same to my glitch file however that didn't change anything on Final Cut
