How do I get the keyboard on my Apple Watch?

I just got a new Apple Watch . When I’m in text messages it doesn’t have a keyboard just a screen, when I swipe up all it says is scribble? Help please

If you bought an Apple Watch SE, it does not include the keyboard. As bumbleben0 correctly points out, only Apple Watch Series 7, 8 and Ultra include a keyboard.

What Apple Watch do you have? Only Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8, and Ultra have a keyboard in Messages. Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 6 and earlier do not.

just ad English keyboard to the iPhone (not the watch app) general - keyboard and you will now be able to find the keyboard when u swipe up in mail or iMessage on your watch 😊
