Contacts Showing as numbers

I've recently left my working place and deleted the work email account from my

phone.

I think some contacts (not necessarily work contacts) were saved on that account

somehow, since now I cant find some people I know were saved on my phone, and

also some are only showing up as numbers.

Sometime it asks me if I want to save it as new contact, and then show me the

name I used to have it under, but I have to save them as new contacts not to add to existing

as it doesn’t show it exist. How can I fix this without going one by one?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds as though your contacts were saved to the email account that was deleted. If possible, you could add that email account back to your device and sync those contacts to iCloud. Otherwise, you may need to update each of the contacts you have not showing names individually.
