Cursor in safari blocks last letter typed

I have a Mac book air iOS Ventura 13.1

when I am using safari to search on google as

I am typing after 2 or 3 letters a grey vertical thick line

appears and blocks the last letter I have typed please help

update mis spoke it is not the cursor blocking my letters it is something appearing on the left of my cursor this is really frustrating guys heading to Apple Store in AM only happens while using google interestingly enough thanks in advance

any advice is appreciated

Yes, I am experiencing the same thing and it just started happening yesterday. The grey rectangular cursor randomly appears in Google search only when using Safari. The gray cursor blocks out the last character typed.

It does not appear when I use Firefox.

I am using Ventura 13.3.1 (a).

got it thanks for your input gus that's exactly what's happening to me feel a lot better now knowing I'm not alone in this was a bit concerned but now going to chalk it down as a glitch or bug of some sort

Are you still experiencing the issue. As of lately, I no longer experience seeing rectangular cursor hiding the last character from view.
