Big Sur Support. How much longer can I expect for Apple to support this OS on my 2014 Mac? I am extremely satisfied with this machine and have no intention to replace it in the future, but I am concerned about the Lifecycle of this machine.

Currently using a 27 in 5 K Retina machine and am Extremely satisfied with it. Dust free home, with UPS filtered power and it has been Extremely reliable for my use. I note that Big Sur is now 2 Versions past and am concerned about the lifecycle of the Apple Support for this OS and Machine combination. I am not able to update to later OS, and would like to remain on the Mac OS as I have considerable capital investment in it.

You can use your 2014 Mac until that time in the future when the hardware fails. Apple operates on a three-year sliding window for operating system support. On very rare occasions, they may issue a security update for an unsupported operating system.

Microsoft also will end new installations and updates for Microsoft 365 and Office 2019/2021 for Mac on Big Sur once macOS 14 is released in Fall 2023.
