can't launch QuickTime on Mac Air Ventura 13.2.1

I can't launch / open Quicktime on Mac Air Ventura 13.2.1. I can locate it via finder, shows as located in iCloud, double clic & the icon comes up but does not open. I have done the "turn it off and turn it back on again" more than once - still no go. Drug icon to trash & emptied trash, still shows with finder, still located in iCloud, still no go. HELP! I need to record an interview next week!

are you double clicking QT and expecting an app window to open? when you launch QT, it will appear as though nothing happens. once you open it, you need to use Apple Menu > QuickTime Player > File and choose an action to start a recording.

and also please see QuickTime Player User Guide for Mac - Apple Support.

and maybe look here: How to record the screen on your Mac.
