Open System Preferences, on a Mac with Apple Silicon or an Intel Mac with the T2 Chip there should be an option to Erase all Content and Settings in the System Preferences Menu on the Menu bar at the top.

If the option is not there, then it's not one of the Macs that support this feature and you need to erase it the traditional way.

To reset your MacBook Air 11 to factory settings and wipe it clean, you can follow these steps:

1. Back up your data: Before resetting your MacBook, it's important to back up all your important data to an external hard drive or cloud storage service like iCloud or Google Drive. This will ensure that you don't lose any important files or data during the reset process.

2. Sign out of iCloud: To avoid any issues with activation lock, make sure to sign out of iCloud before resetting your MacBook. To do this, go to Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud, then click on "Sign Out."

3. Restart your MacBook: Once you've backed up your data and signed out of iCloud, restart your MacBook.

4. Enter Recovery Mode: As soon as your MacBook restarts, press and hold down the Command (⌘) + R keys until you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe appear on the screen. This will boot your MacBook into Recovery Mode.

5. Erase the hard drive: In Recovery Mode, select "Disk Utility" and click "Continue." Then, select your MacBook's startup disk and click on "Erase." This will erase all the data on your MacBook's hard drive.

6. Reinstall macOS: Once you've erased your MacBook's hard drive, close Disk Utility and select "Reinstall macOS" from the Utilities menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

7. Set up your MacBook: After macOS is installed, your MacBook will restart and prompt you to set up your device as if it were brand new. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your MacBook and start using it.

That's it! Your MacBook Air 11 has now been reset to factory settings and is ready to use.
