In my new purchased, about 6 months, I suddenly saw a crack on left side just beside the hinges. I am sure that there was nothing in between the bezel and palm-rest and no excessive force was applied to it still it cracked. I have seen some threads on social media about same, some even got it covered into warranty. Is this a manufacturing fault?

Troubleshooting Faulty Devices:
Only Apple would have the call in this. So, take this in for a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store. There, it will be diagnosed, and you'll be provided your options.
Here is a picture of the same if that can help. I saw some news on the internet this being the manufacturing fault.

As this site is simply a user-to-user forum and obviously can't examine your Mac you'll have to have that done at either an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Advisor. We have no way of knowing if yours is a manufacturing fault or not.
