I've rented a movie on apple tv and it rented in russian even though it didn't ask me what language I prefer. I want to watch it either in original with English subtitles or Ukrainian (but I prefer orig + eng subs). What should I do? (The option of watching it in russian is off-topic, cause I don't speak the language of violence!)

The audio language streams and subtitle streams in the iTunes Store movies is determined by the supplying studio and may differ by country and by title. Titles may or may nor include original audio, and a default (primary/first language) would be set by the studio. Users can get movies from their own region iTunes Store only, as set by the county for the Apple ID account. Users may select one of the available languages through the in-app controls. Change subtitles or languages for videos in the Apple TV app or iTunes Store - Apple Support.
Each movie’s Details page would show which languages are included for this title for a given region, so that users can make informed buying decisions.

I have no Apple movies so I don't know if there's an alternative sound track you can select. If not, then in general you are stuck with the language that the iTunes Store in your country provides.
