Sticky Keys problem: Excessive capital letters

THis is what it looks like when I try to type using STicky Keys. IT tends to do it more when I'm specifically trying NOT to. I would prefer using Sticky Keys because it feels more natural to me to press things in sequence rather than trying to hold down keys simultaneously, especially when trying to execute more complex commands using more than two keys at once. What's holding me back is the software's annoying tendency to not disengage the Shift key immediately after the first keystroke, to the point that two or sometimes even three capital letters can result when I'm only trying for one, and I honestly cannot for the life of me figure out why it does this. I'm a pretty fast typist, all things considered, but I can't be the only one who finds this irksome.

I think it might be helpful if I explain what I think is going on.

This happens even when I don't have it set to display which modifier keys I've pressed, but when I do have it set to display them, I've noticed that the system thinks that the key is being held from the moment the key fades onto the screen to the moment it fades off. From fade-in to fade-out it's fast enough that most people might think I'm just nitpicking, but StickyKeys really does present a logical alternative to the old-fashioned way of holding modifier keys while typing, especially for folks like myself who can type really fast.

What's strange is the system doesn't treat any other keys this way. It's just the modifier keys. It's not like I have to worry about it thinking I've held down the K or O keys longer than merely pressing them the once. It only does this with modifier keys, and again I think it's in relation to how long the key would be displayed on the screen if you have it enabled to do so.

In that case, I think a fix would be to enable an option for instantaneous display and vanishing of the modifier key — once you've pressed it, it immediately appears as if it were a letter you just typed, then once it's been fulfilled it disappears like a letter you've just backspaced.

I know there's nothing that can be done about that from this thread, by you or by anyone else. I guess I just wanted it on record somewhere.
