Issue after upgrade to Ventura. Is there anyway to reconnect the MacBook Pro 16 from 2019 with Ventura 13.3.1 to a Panasonic TV, via HDMI? The HDMI proposal by Apple does not work.

I can't see why it should not work.

Does the tv even appear in System Settings->Displays?

Does the tv have more than one HDMI port, and does it make any difference which port it is connected to? turning the tv on or off, disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, etc. I suppose you tried that already...

(This one hardly ever works, but still: if you hold down Option, and click "Detect Displays" does it do anything useful?)

FIXED (sort of). I followed the suggestions of Reddit user https://www.reddit.com/user/mistakenotmy/ and tried buying and attaching to my HDMI dongle an EDID emulator like this one. The TV was identified straight-away and I can now use it with my Intel-based Ventura MacBook Pro. Yet another small dongle, I know, and I've read online there might be software-only hacks for this, but this is in the end a very straightforward fix. More info here.

Hope this helps!
