Apple World Travel Adapter Kit -- plug types?

What plug types (i.e., using the letter codes) does the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit include? Looking at the shapes is not very helpful. Thanks.

Hello RESternglantz,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you want to know what is included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit. We are happy to point you in the right direction.

Here’s information on what is included in the kit here: Apple World Travel Adapter Kit - Apple

"The AC plugs included in the World Travel Adapter Kit directly support outlets in North America, Japan, China, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, and Brazil."

Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.

Even if the Apple Kit included the adapter that you needed, you generally only get 1 adapter in the kit that will work in a given country.

How many of us travel internationally and only need 1 plug adapter at our destination? My wife and I travel with a laptop, iPhones, iPad, razor, hairdryer, etc, so we need a minimum of 4-5 adapters to handle things.

It's much easier to do a little research and find out what adapter is used in a given country and buy 4-5 from Amazon or another source. Sure, you can wait and buy adapters at the airport shops, but expect to pay 3 times the price.

What Apple calls a "European Adapter" won't work in Italy or Switzerland by the way. Even the European adapter in the Apple Kit does not usually fit all that snugly in the wall sockets in most European countries.

If you have not already purchased the Apple Kit, I would advise people to pass. You get to your destination and maybe one adapter will work and all the others just sit in the bag.

Thanks, but I did read the product description before I asked my question. Plug types are generally described by letter -- H, M, C, etc. -- not by country of use. There are many countries besides the very few listed in the product descriptions and I'm trying to get the industry standard descriptions of the plug types so I can determine whether the set will satisfy my needs.

Thank you, Bob Timmons, you are absolutely right. I find it astounding that Apple would sell something calling it WORLD adapter kit and the packaging lists North America, China Mainland, Korea, Brazil, Australia/NZ, Europe, UK/Hong Kong/Singapore ....... what's missing??? Not a mention of Africa?!? A whole continent of 54 countries and 1.2B people. I'm traveling to South Africa and Mozambique. Nada. Zilch.

Hello GV-K,

You may want to have a look at the following web page:

https://iectest.iec.ch/world-plugs

If you select Mozambique and South Africa, details about the socket and plug types used can be found.

As Bob Timmons indicated, buying separate plug adapters is a good idea.

Also, it is good practice to verify the voltage and frequency for a power adapter, charger, or any other electrical equipment before use. Look for a label/text on the device in question (it can be difficult to read, so a magnifying glass may help). For example, modern Apple power adapters typically have an input voltage range of 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz.
