My husband‘s iPhone 12 is locked out and we need to get back in but we don’t want to wait the full amount of time for erase iPhone to come up. Does anyone know how to get around this? We also do not have a laptop or computer at the time we only have my iPad and my cell phone as well? Please help us idiots thanks

What procedure you can use will depend upon the iOS system version you are using on your phone. I don't assume everybody is always running the highest iOS versions possible. ;-)
When running a mobile device OS version lower than 15.2, follow the directions in this support article --> If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
This method will require you use a computer If you do not have one, go to an Apple Store or ask a friend if you can use theirs.
If you are running a higher iOS version, use the directions in this support article: If you see an iPhone or iPad unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support
You don't need a computer, but you will need to go through the process. Sorry, no way to work around this.
