IiPod touch 6th generation update?

Can your iPod can be update ?

• Unfortunately No, you can't have iOS 13 or later on an iPod touch 6 but you can have iOS 12.5.7

Solutions

• Download the apps on an other apple device with the same Apple ID that your iPod and on your iPod download the apps in the purchase category.

• Buy a new apple device (I recommend you the iPad 9 or the iPhone SE 3)

I believe that model tops out at iOS 12.5.7 It is NOT in this list: iOS 13 and iPadOS are compatible with these devices - Apple Support

For clarity; Apple have stated that the 6th generation iPod Touch cannot be updated to iOS 13.

This model has seen several updates since that announcement, all within the iOS 12 range. The last two were:

• • iOS 12.5.7 was released on 23rd January 2023
  • iOS 12.5.6 was released on 31st August 2022

All were security updates, as were the fourteen ones prior to those, since September 2019.
