I'm having great difficulty connecting my Sony a7riv to my MacBook pro.
My MacBook pro cannot recognise my camera.
Any suggestions?

If you're trying to move photos from the camera to the Mac have you tried a card reader?
I think Sony make an app for tethered shooting
Yes, taking the card from the camera and plugging into my Macbook Pro is the last resort.
I'm trying to recreate an event I did before - setting up my camera secretly connected to my laptop, in turn connected to a portable printer. The idea was to create "Daguerrotype Polaroids" - which I was able to do before, but cannot reproduce.
