Hi. Need some advice please, I have always just dragged a photo from Photos onto my desktop, to day when doing exactly the same all I get is a small icon as shown, not a small icon of my picture, don't think I have changed any setting or done any update, I know I can use export etc but this has always been a convenient quick way of moving a picture, the picture opens fine with preview Thanks PeteC

Have you restarted the computer-- that's always the first thing. If that doesn't do it, then Re-start in Safe Mode. This bypasses certain potentially disruptive processes. Safe Mode is different for different computers, so see this:

Thanks for reply Richard, expanding the icon is fine, it contains the full picture, if you have a few on the desktop then it is helpful to see what pictures they are not to just have JPG icon, cant understand that yesterday I had a picture icon and today a JPG icon ?

To make sure, your concern about the icon? Is it correct that the picture file is fine, but you don't like the icon?
