A serial number for a product that has been replaced.

I bought a Sierra Blue Unlocked (Renewed) 512 GB 13 Pro Max from Amazon. I’m pretty certain it was from amazon renew (shipped and sold by Bayshine Trading).

When I enter entered the serial number it showed an error -

We’re sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and try again. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us.

What does that mean? So many things I don’t understand. Is my 13 Pro Max fake ? and what does that mean in terms of security like hacking and personal info?

"Oh I forgot, I’m on an Apple platform so of course you will defend Apple, and that it is illegal to take an iPhone and put foreign parts in it by a nonauthorized manufacturer. Why is it bad that it’s remanufactured (refurbished) - In terms of security, cyberhacking, is this a big issue?"

A Glitch, Perhaps?

It may be a glitch in Apple's database. So, contact them, asking if there is any conflictual error occurring in their device database.

So, it might take a bit to get through to Apple Support. But, just stay on the line, and someone will be with yo

Get a Refund:

You have been sold a device that is remanufactures. So, report this to Amazon, seeing if the seller can be held accountable, and if you can get a return.

You haven't bought a phone that was remanufactured, you bought a phone that was supposed to be sent back to Apple because a replacement was sent to the owner.

Technically this is a stolen phone. The owner was supposed to send this back to Apple because they received a replacement but instead, they sold the phone.

Contact Bayshine Trading and ask for a refund. If they don't refund it, contact Amazon and make them aware of the fraud. They will refund your money.
