Favicon issue in Safari favorites - any way to enable it?

Hello Apple community,

I'm trying to switch to Safari from other browsers like Chrome, but I'm having trouble with the lack of favicons in the favorites/bookmarks bar. In other browsers, you can delete the text from the bookmarks, leaving just the favicon, which saves space and makes it more visually appealing. Unfortunately, Safari doesn't seem to have this feature, and it's becoming a real annoyance.

I can't fit as many bookmarks as I'd like in Safari, and even though the text takes up a lot of space, the bookmarks still aren't very readable. I saw this topic being discussed a few years ago, but it seems like nothing has changed since then.

Interestingly, when the bookmarks bar is full and I click to expand it, the favicons do appear next to the hidden bookmarks that don't fit in the bar. This makes me wonder why this feature isn't available for the visible bookmarks as well.

Is there any way to enable favicons for favorites bar in Safari? Any workaround or extension that could help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I found an option to use emoticons instead of text but it's not very convenient.

Thank you for your assistance!

I'd be happy just to HAVE the icons at all. All I get is blocks with a single letter in them. One would think it's not too hard to program a "right" mouse click and under the "Edit Address..." option add a "Get Site Icon" option just like the "Get Artwork" in Music.
