No add family member button

Hi,

When I go through the suggested steps to add a family member (my son) to Family Sharing, there is no "add" button up the top right. I get the little spinning wheel for 2 seconds and then it disappears.

Thanks

Hello ConorLIrwin,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you’re unable to add your son to your Family Sharing group. If so, we’d like to help out and recommend some troubleshooting steps. Hopefully we can get this issue sorted out. Depending on your iOS version, these steps do differ. Please check out the resource here for steps on how to add your son: Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

On your iPhone or iPad with iOS 16 or later
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Family.
3. Tap Add Member .
4. If your child doesn't have an Apple ID, tap Create an Account for a Child. But if your child already has an Apple ID, tap Invite People. They can enter their Apple ID password on your device to accept the invitation.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up parental controls, location sharing, and more.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 15 or earlier
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap your name, then tap Family Sharing.
3. Tap Add Member.
4. If your child doesn't have an Apple ID, tap Create an Account for a Child. But if your child already has an Apple ID, tap Invite People. They can enter their Apple ID password on your device to accept the invitation.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

If these were the steps you were following with no success, we can recommend some additional steps to help further isolate this issue. Follow the steps below:

1.) Restart your son's and your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

2.) Check both devices for possible Screen Time restrictions that might be enabled. This might prevent you from being able to use certain features: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

3.) Make sure that all updates have been installed on both devices. This can usually help with unique issues, since updates include fixes. Just in case, this link can guide you through the update process: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1.)Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2.)Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3.)Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4.) If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5.) Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

We hope these steps help you out. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
