Trying to install new app on my Mac OS Monterey but asking for password? Can’t remember

If you are not the Administrator of that Mac, then you need to ask its Administrator to install that app for all users of that Mac.
If you are that Mac's only Administrator, and you do not know its password, then you will need to reset your Mac's login password according to Reset your Mac login password - Apple Support.
