Ventura - Printer presets have not worked since they "improved" design

The new design is more of a pain to use -- however that not withstanding if it worked I could at least deal with it.

The presets will not stay.

it says it will keep and looks like it is saved - but if you select and then check - it is not done.

I am using inDesign and when I print I go to the Apple printer section so I can have NO COLOR CORRECTION

It does not stay - I have to set this EVERY time or the color is screwed up.

Apple Ventura - YOU BROKE it please fix.

Hi mm1928,

Does this issue occur when printing from other apps?

If not, you'd want to get in touch with Adobe for further assistance.

If it happens with all apps, let's test to see if the issue persists in a different user account, as this will help us to isolate further. You can find steps for creating a new user account here: Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support

We hope that helps.

Take care.

I print in InDesign

I can check other Adobe apps.

The area that does not work is when I am in Adobe InDesign print modal box I click on printer button which takes me to the Apple system print info.

The InDesign presets work

The Apple system presets don't. It allows you to "save" a preset - but if you select it does not do anything.

I have to select paper width

And then under main turn color to no color correction.

Everytime

If I print wo doing that my color prints very poorly as I then have two color changes going on Adobe and then Apple's. Color is weaker and poor.

I am printing out to a 12 color wide format Canon printer.

I've been printing to similar printers for over 25 years.

I have in the past also used various RIPs to be able to proof 4 color printing.

APPLE BROKE IT when they made the new "prettier" version that is not as quick to use either.

Trading old school reading verses icons -

I want to send the dev / designer responsible a bill for wasted paper, ink and time.

And they have had this issue since beginning of Ventura.

It is a BUG - does Apple follow this area or us there a place they will see a bug report so they will fix?

Hi mm1928,

To help us better assist you, can you let us know more about the situation? For example, does the issue only happen with InDesign, or does it occur when printing from other apps or programs as well? That information will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also check out the information and suggestions in the following link, which outlines how to save frequently used print settings for routine printing on Mac, and may help: Save frequently used print settings for routine printing on Mac

Save your print settings as a print job preset or custom preset

1. On your Mac, open a document, then choose File > Print.
2. Choose any print settings you want to save as a preset.
3. Click the Presets pop-up menu, then choose Save Current Settings as Preset.
The Presets section of the Print dialog.
4. To save a print job or custom preset, do the following:

* Preset Name: Type a preset name.
* Available for: To create a preset for a specific printer, click the printer name or click “All printers” to make this preset available for all printers.
* Type: Click Print Job Preset to save it as a general print job preset or click Custom Preset to save the settings as a custom preset to be used with a print job preset.

To view a list of presets or delete them, choose Edit Preset List from the Preset pop-up menu. You can also choose to automatically revert the chosen presets to the default print settings after printing.

Thanks!

It is in APPLES dialog box - not Adobe's. See images.

Will look for another app that uses the apple printer prefs in the same manner.

Is there anyway to turn off Apples color correction system globally?

I will check using a different user account on my computer.

I can report it to Adobe in bug report - see if anyone there has an issue.
