Attachment has no icon in received mail, making it near impossible to find

On MacOs Ventura 13.1, when I receive a mail with an attachment, I need to select text to find the attachment as it has no icon (it basically is a white square on white background with no contours).

It's incredibly annoying as the attachment is there, can be opened, previewed and everything. It's just a matter of finding where it is in the body of the mail.

See screenshot attached, the light grey square is not visible because I found it and selected it. Otherwise you'd just see white there...

UPDATE: I turned on "Use columnar view" and then turned it off again and the icon is now available.

But.... I had tried this in the past and eventually it just reverts to not showing icons.

Please help.

Tried to activate the the "dark background for messages" option. As well as turn off the dark mode for the entire machine. The problem persists...

One thing you could try is updating to Ventura 13.3. 13.1 has had many fixes since.
