Google Voice text notifications stopped working on iPhone SE (iOS 16.2)

I've used GV for a long time, and earlier this year the text notifications stopped working on my iPhone.


  • It does ring for GV incoming phone calls
  • I see the number of unread messages (# in red circle) on the home screen
  • I used to receive notifications, but didn't notice exactly when they stopped (so don't know if it's related to an iOS upgrade, for example)
  • I've uninstalled and reinstalled GV


Any other ideas?

If you have an app, like Google Voice, that is not responding as expected, these are the best steps to take:


  1. Close and open the app.
  2. Restart you device.
  3. Check for updates.
  4. Delete and download app
