Why does “new message” open automatically when I click on messages? How do I turn this off? iPhone
my messages are all listed, but for the past few days every time I open messages it immediately pops up “new messages” this is a new and annoying feature. How can I disable this?
It's probably more a glitch.
Try closing the Messages app completely. If you have an iPhone with a Home button, double-tap and swipe Messages app up and away. If you have an iPhone with Face ID, swipe up to the middle and swipe Messages app up and away.
Then try to do a Forced Restart:
1. Press and quickly release Volume Up
2. Press and quickly release Volume Down
3. Press and hold the Side/Power Button, the phone will restart. Release when you see the Apple Logo.
Check if that fixed it.
