remove mactintosh hd icon off my imac desktop

How do I remove the Macintosh HD icon from my iMac desktop? It wasn't there before I installed and ran EtreCheck. (I installed it because Malwarebytes no longer works for me...hasn't for months; I keep getting an "Ooops, something went wrong" message)

Hi there!


Try these steps.


    1. In the Finder on your Mac, choose Finder > Settings.
    2. Click General, then uncheck the option to show hard disks on the desktop.
