As long its not locked to a Canadian carrier, yes, you should be able to.
Only iPhones bought directly from Apple will be unlocked.
iPhones bought from a Canadian mobile service provider or electronics store may be locked to a specific carrier. In that case only that carrier can unlock it.
Also note, Warranty will only be valid in Canada, and you will need to return the device physically to Canada to get warranty service. Apple will not take international shipments for warranty service.
