Sony TV HomeKit and AirPlay problem
Good morning. I purchased a Sony XR55X90K. Couldn't get the darn thing to work with Airplay or add it to HomeKit. I called Sony and attempted all of their 'remedies'
- Check date/time is correct
- Check iPhone is up to date--needed a minor update
- Check Sony for updates--turns out I had to buy a flash drive and update the firmware manually because the latest update hadn't rolled out yet. This was also done
- Ensure both devices were on the same network--confirmed
- Privacy policy accepted on Sony--confirmed
- Reset, retry Sony as well as with iPhone. No luck
I just got off the phone with Sony and they say it must be an apple issue as we performed all of the steps required by Sony. I find that hard to believe considering I attempted to connect with 2 different iPhones and one iPad with the same result. Also, my phones etc work with my Samsung TV just fine with AirPlay and so many other items.
Does anyone know of a magic bullet to get this figured out? Each time I scan the QR code it just tells me it couldn't connect after a few minutes. Frustrating to say the least.
