Update Apple ID Settings

Please someone tell me how to get rid of the Update Apple ID Settings…. I see this question was raised back in 2020, but this is a recent issue for me and it is driving me mad as I hate the red 1 on my devices. I like to clear everything as it arises!

Hey janarchery,

Let's check to make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version:

Also, do you have passcode enabled on your iPhone? If not, let's set one up and try again to see if you still get the notification:

Use a passcode with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On iPhone X and later, or iPad with Face ID, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. On earlier iPhone models, go to Touch ID & Passcode. On devices without Touch ID, go to Settings > Passcode.
  2. Tap Turn Passcode On.
  3. Enter a six-digit passcode. Or tap Passcode Options to switch to a four-digit numeric code, a custom numeric code, or a custom alphanumeric code.
  4. Enter your passcode again to confirm it and activate it.

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.

I have tried all of the above and nothing works. I still have this showing on my iPhone and both my iPads. It is driving me crazy as I hate the red numbers on my Home Screen. I have changed my Apple password. Everything is completely up to date. I already use Touch ID and I also know, and occasionally need to put in my six figure code. I understand that this is a recurring error with Apple. Someone must know how to resolve it.

I have now been unable to POST my reply because my session has expired despite me signing into this approximately two minutes earlier! I am a very fast fully trained touch typist so this took barely a minute to type!
