can't find ppoe server

New MacBook Air,OS 13.2.1. When rebooted, error msg "could not fine pope server" appears, and I can't do Safari search. WiFi is working OK. What Do I do about this?

New MacBook Air, somehow Ethernet in sys prefs got turned on. AOK now with item.
