Apple Watch Ultra missing basic sports functions

The Apple Watch Ultra is the most expensive sports watch and yet lacks basic sports functions.

Furthermore, the name "Ultra" indicates a watch for extreme activities - why does Apple prioritize to show the user how many hours you stand up or walk a distance indoors - and not how far you cycled or skied?

Doesn't Apple have the technology that every other sports watch manufacturer has? Or does Apple want to force users to pay for expensive apps in addition to the expensive watch?

It shows how many times you stood up from a period of an hour at your desk or in front of a TV. Set at 12 by default. It has never recorded how long you are standing. You misunderstand that function.

It does show distance cycled outside. Indoor spinning does not have a real GPS distance, only a notional distance so no point in recording it. Start an outdoor cycling workout and you will see what you expect.

There are many free apps such as Strava you can use if they give better analysis.

Ultra is so much more than a sports watch. If that is all you wanted you could have bought an SE2022 for 1/3 of the price.

OK not recording distance for cross country skiing is strange - tell them at https://apple.com/feedback

They are not here to read it, just us volunteers trying to help people with problems using Watch.

Good luck.
