Apple Watch tracks my sleep when not wearing it

How to prevent Apple Watch series 8 track my sleep when I don’t wear the watch? I have turned on sleep mode (10:30pm) on iPhone and watch, it winds down (9:45pm) automatically. I usually don’t use my iPhone and put down my watch between 10pm-12am. I wear my watch just before I sleep at around 11:30pm. But my watch tracks my sleep from about 10:xx pm. how to fix it?

Hi Waiwen,

We'll be happy to help you out. It's expected behavior for the watch to track your sleep if you have Sleep set up on your device. The only way to disable this would be to stop using the Sleep function with the Apple Watch. This process is outlined in Track your sleep on Apple Watch and use Sleep on iPhone - Apple Support

If you only want the "Sleep" function to silence notifications and such, using a normal Focus at those times may suit your needs better. You can set up a Focus using the steps outlined in Set up a Focus on iPhone - Apple Support

Cheers.
