I need to upgrade to Big Sur in order to run Turbo Tax. Can I upgrade OS to Big Sur with this 2012 model?

sorry, no. there are no Macs from 2012 that are Big Sur compatible.
but you could look into Turbo Tax online. it works with some older versions of macOS.
