Passcode now changed

Whenever my face was partially blocked (scarf, hat, etc...) my Face ID wouldn't activate. Sometimes I just decides it wants the passcode regardless.

Well it suddenly asked for an update on the passcode.

It used to be 6 numerical digits which was quick and easy. But now it asked for 5 numerical digits, 5 alphabetical digits, and a symbol.

I have to type in 11 digits now. This is really awkward now and is difficult to access in a pinch when Face ID isn't recognizing me. Is there a way to go back to just 6 digits?

You can try and change the passcode and return it back to six numberical digits.

Open Settings ➡️ Face ID & Passcode ➡️ Change Passcode ➡️ Passcode Options: Here, you can:

  • Tap Custom Numeric Code to use a numbers-only passcode that's of a length that you determine.
  • Tap 6-Digit Numeric Code to use a numbers-only passcode that contains six characters. This is the default, and will only appear on the menu if you've selected another option

Hi, I had to go back and add this because I figured out what the problem was.

I started a new job which required a Microsoft authenticator app for my phone. In the process, another management portal app was also added which changed the accessibility to my iPhone.

I had to delete the app (I didn't really need it) and now everything is back to normal.

Thanks for the reply! The info still helped!
