Phone Crashes when connecting to wifi

When I try to open wifi either from setting or from swiping down and long holding the wifi button, my phone freezes up, and I have to restart it. I have tried resetting it, and clearing network settings. Any fixes for this issue?

Hello globot77,

We understand that your device becomes unresponsive when attempting to access Wi-Fi from the Control Center or Settings app. You've done some great troubleshooting on your own. Often times, software updates for your iPhone can address unexpected behavior like what you're describing. If it's not already, we recommend updating your device using the steps in Update your iPhone or iPad.

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Regards.
