iPhone proximity sensor issue from iOS 15/16

I have been having some issues with the proximity sensor on my iPhone 14 Pro. Most of the times I raise the phone to my ear it does not block the screen from touch, the screen is still on and the audio is still outputted by the speaker. Sometimes blocking and turning the screen off take a few seconds. My ear accidentally pushes the dinamic island, or the screen quick-scrolls to the top. It’s a pretty random behaviour. The issue occurs on any app that I need to use the feature (listening to audios on WhatsApp, Instagram, iMessage etc.).

I tried to remove the screen protector, reboot the phone, update the iOS (currently on 16.3.1), all the basic actions. It seems to be a software issue, because recently I changed to iPhone 14 Pro, before I had an iPhone XS and the proximity sensor worked flawlessly, but I started to have the issue on the XS when I updated the iOS to 15 or 16 (sorry I don’t remember from which version exactly I started having this issue on the XS). I have some friends reporting the same issue on different iPhone models. It seems that the developers had to make room for interacting with the dinamic island (now you have feedback from pushing the screen near the proximity sensor, which did not happen before) and it messed up with everything.
